How to Loose Weight?
This is the question every person looking to loose weight asks sooner or later. We try so many things for short term and then give up and then ask this question. We go with the next big thing in weight loss, try it for short term and then again ask this question. Why is this question so hard to answer. Is weight loss a problem for which there is no solution?
Understanding the Weight Loss Problem
The problem is not with the weight we have put on or the solutions we are taking to loose weight. The problem is in our attitude and will power and our minds which try to divert us from the actual problem of weight loss which we are suffering and the path chosen by us to solve the problem. So the first thing we should correct is our attitude towards weight loss.
Drafting the Weight Loss Strategy
We should sit down and frame a concrete strategy towards weight loss based on information that I will be describing below or information that you have heard or read elsewhere but the strategy should be concrete and written in stone. If not in stone atleast write it down on a piece of paper first describing the problem of weight loss you are facing, what strategy you have decided to follow for losign weight. Try to be as specific as possible.
Now you may be thinking how will writing it down will help me reduce weight or this is all bullshit or you may just ignore it but Just Try It you will not regret it later. Later when you are in doubt or when things are not working as expected as weight loss can be a stubborn problem and you may not see the results on the weighing scale while the cleaning is happening within your body then this peice of paper will help you cruise through that period and keep you on track to weight loss.
So go now and write everything that your heart is saying right now on a piece of paper or atleast the problem!
Weight Loss Targets
I personally do not write any target or goal on this piece of paper, beacuse it binds you to that goal and creates problems for e.g. if your goal is to loose 25 pounds in 3 months and you overshoot that goal and loose 30 pounds then you may become escatic and not follow through with your strategy. The devil in your mind may say "We have lost more than our target now we deserve a well earned break!" and that break becomes longer and longer and in the end we tend to gain all the lost weight. In second scenario we may not achieve the goal or achieve a part of it say if you loose only 15 pounds then again the devil in your mind will say "Your strategy is faulty. We will never loose weight this way. Try something else." When these thoughts come to your mind then your weight loss strategy goes out of the window and you come back to square one.
Correct Weight Loss Attitute
Think of Weight loss as a daily routine and try not to keep a watch on a regular basis just see once or twice a month, seeing you weight daily will not change anything and will create anxiety or euphoria which can only create problems with your weight loss strategy. Instead of keeping a traget of number of pounds lost keep a target of how many days you were able to follow your strategy and the weight loss problem will take care of itself. Just know that whatever weight loss strategy you have decided for yourself is the best strategy for you and is better than what any weight loss trainer would have designed cause you know your body better than anybody else.
Do not think of weight loss as the ultimate goal, think of being healty and fit as the ultimate goal, weight loss will happen along the way. So Just Do It!
